Taiwan transit map

Buses load for the area in view once you zoom in to the streets.

Flight and ferry routes are straight lines between their ends, not the actual course.

Flight and ferry routes are straight lines between their ends, not the actual course.

Terrain from official elevation data such as Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior DTM (compiled by Mapterhorn), heights exaggerated 1.3 times. Zoomed in to street level, buildings stand at their OpenStreetMap height (6 m where none is given) and the estimated trains become blocks. The map tilts when this is on; turn it with two fingers or a right-drag.

Exits appear when you zoom in to street level.

Level crossings show once the map is zoomed in; choose one for the times trains are estimated to pass, from the timetable.

Trains are placed at the station Taiwan Railway's live data last reported them at: not live coordinates, never moved by the timetable.

Each train is placed between stations by its timetable (Taiwan Railway's plus its official delay) and moves every second. These are estimates, not live coordinates; trains may be elsewhere. Checked against Taiwan Railway's official reports 120,690 times in the last 7 days: 48% within 2 minutes, 60% within 5, 22 min off on average. Set by the time of each report instead, 41% were within 2 minutes.

Each train is put together from the official station timetables, its departures from one station to the next, and placed between stations by the timetable, moving every second. These are estimates, not live coordinates. The Wenhu line and Taichung MRT publish headways only: their trains are drawn from the first and last trains at the official headway (fainter rings; not actual trains). New Taipei's Circular line is not shown (its stations' official timetables do not line up), nor is a line on a day its stations' timetables do not line up (some light rail lines at weekends).
